Servicing down a third… at least.
A staggering 89% of UK adults have reported a rise in their living costs in the past month alone, according to a new public opinion report from the Office for National Statistics. As a result, many of us are cutting back on basics and one of those is the annual boiler service. By January 2021 servicing was down 34% (source: This is Money) due to the pandemic but, now we’re in the grip of the cost-of-living crisis, we believe this figure is much higher. Of course, it’s hard to tell anyone that not servicing their boiler is a false economy when making ends meet is difficult, but no one wants the cost of a boiler repair when the cold weather comes either. If you feel it’s appropriate, please give your customers a gentle reminder to get their boiler booked in for a service.
