You say cylinder, we say Xylinder!
If you thought Intergas was synonymous with gas boilers you’d be right… and wrong. Since we were acquired by Rheem in 2019 we have been benefitting from the Group’s extensive Research & Development resource to develop new, more sustainable heating and hot water products. For the past two years we’ve been collaborating with DeJong, a name synonymous with hot water cylinders and also part of the Rheem group of companies, to produce an Intergas range of cylinders, which we’ve branded Xylinders. And, just like our boilers, these Xylinders are built to last.
Xylinder performance
All our direct, indirect, pre-plumbed and heat pump cylinders are made from grade 444 stainless steel (the industry standard is 2304), one of the highest grades of stainless steel on the market and unique to Intergas. Its properties are perfect for hot water cylinders as it has extreme corrosion resistance to limescale, chlorine, stress and pitting and has heat transfer capabilities. And, the heat exchanger coil, which is
smooth not corrugated, promotes rapid heat transfer and cylinder recovery.
When it comes to energy saving, the Xylinder range has a specific design feature that sets it apart from the rest: the immersion heater sits above the coil. When it’s needed, the immersion only heats up the water required, not the whole tank, so you don’t have as long to wait if you want a quick shower, and you haven’t wasted any money heating the whole cylinder.
